It’s been a busy start to 2022 for our UXPA International Board after quite the rollercoaster year of 2021.

We have just opened up registration for our 2022 International Conference taking place in San Diego, CA this June. We have started recruiting our next cohort for our UXPA mentorship program and have been working hard lining up great webinars and online short courses just waiting for you to sign up.

The beginning of this year also brought some change. Our prior Director of Publications Ben Lauren, had to step down due to increasing work demands. While Ben only worked with the BOD for a short time, he was a wonderful addition to the team and we are so grateful for the work he was able to do with the Journal and Publication teams.

We are very lucky however, to gain a new Director of Publications, Andrew Schall! Those of you who have been familiar with UXPA events may already recognize the name, as Andrew has shared his knowledge and experience in user-centered design at numerous conferences including at our own UXPA International Conference for many years. Prior to moving to Florida, he also served on the UXDC Board.

We are really excited to bring Andrew’s expertise to our team. He has over 15 years of experience as a UX researcher, strategist, and designer working with companies such as The New York Times, Citibank, Harley Davidson, and Southwest Airlines and is currently the senior director of experience design research at Mayo Clinic. Andrew is also an adjunct faculty member at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) where he teaches graduate students about Human-Computer Interaction and has co-authored the book Eye Tracking in User Experience Design. You can see why we are thrilled to have him on our Board!
When he is not focusing on all things UX and UXPA, Andrew enjoys taking short walks on the beach with his pug named Lucy. We welcome Andrew and are looking forward to working together.

We wish all you all, our UX family, a happy and healthy 2022, and optimistic that we get to see you this June in San Diego for what we are hopeful will be a more “back to normal” conference and networking experience for everyone!
