What a year it’s been!

From a successful UXPA 2023 conference in Austin, TX, to another great mentorship cohort, we have been busy and we will not stop!

There was also some change this year, as we had some UXPA BOD colleagues move on from their roles. We want to thank Abby Goodrum for all the great work she did as Director of Education, which includes our Webinar Wednesdays. We welcomed Joshua Randall into the role a few months ago and already he has hit the ground running. Stay tuned for more program offerings from UXPA International!

With Alain now serving as Vice President for our Board, he and I are aware of the large shoes he is filling. Our former Vice President, Jana Pantoja, was a crucial part of our BOD for several years and was critical in making our mentorship program successful. As Director of Chapters, she was responsible for bringing together chapters from around the world, and helping to evolve our relationships. We are completely grateful for her and her time.

Moving ahead, the BOD is excited to welcome Christina Manikus into the role of Director of Chapters and look forward to seeing how we can solidify our chapter relationships even more.

Finally, we want to thank Jack Holmes for teaming up with me (Sara) to chair our annual conference the past several years. Jack’s contribution has been a huge part of planning and executing these successful events and we could not have done it without him!

The diversity of our UXPA leadership group, composed of colleagues from Canada, the United States, Austria, Germany, and Jordan, among others, has enriched our discussions and perspectives. The field of user experience (#UX) is constantly evolving, and working with individuals who are passionate and open to change while keeping a firm hand on the wheel is an enriching experience that opens up new possibilities.

In 2024, we wish us a breath of fresh air and a strong wind of change. Our times are challenging. And in the current context, marked by political and economic turmoil, our ability to remain respectful of everyone while being flexible and organized is essential. Both of us are incredibly motivated by seeing how much we have gained in maturity, openness, and resilience.

Next June, our 2024 International conference will take place in Hollywood, FL (just outside of Ft. Lauderdale) at a beautiful beach-front property. We can expect many attendees based on the high number of presentation proposals and cordially invite you all to attend this welcoming and inclusive event.

Registration opens in the new year, so keep your eye on uxpa2024.org!

We have so. much to do for the good of #UX and the good of our communities. Let’s do it together!

Wishing you all a safe and wonderful 2024!
