UXPA International Short Courses

Educational, timely, and relevant short courses to foster continued education among new and experienced UX practitioners. Courses will be presented live via GoToWebinar, and recordings will be available to students immediately following each class. Courses will be instructor-led with interactive participation. The UXPA international courses are not part of any accreditation system. A participation certificate will be available upon request.

Description

Business schools are talking design, but how many designers are talking business? Join this course to learn the value designers can bring to the table through understanding the right business focus, speaking the right language, and more. Get equipped with a mindset and frameworks that you can start using today.

Course Objectives

 You will learn how design can drive business. We’ll walk you through practical methods to drive business value such as the eXperience Roadmap and the Balanced Scorecard. You’ll learn about concepts such as the experience value chain, portfolio management, Design Opportunities and the Design Premium.

Participants will walk away with a co-branded certificate for PragmaticUX.

Course Methodology

Three 120-minute online lectures on Fridays at Noon ET:

March 13, 20 and 27, Noon ET/11am CT/9am PT

Homework for Session 2:

    • Think of a user and product (can be your own!) and write down as many user and business insights as you can

Presenter

Satyam Kantamneni (instructor) is an engineer by training, designer by profession, and is now the co-founder and Managing Partner at UXReactor. After having spent close to 15 years on the corporate side leveraging design agencies, he took a lot of notes on what was and wasn’t working. He has a track record of leading user experience and product evolution for multiple Fortune 500 companies, and is an alumnus of PayPal, Citrix, Fidelity, Siemens, Harvard Business School and Wright State University.

Sarah Khalid (co-instructor) is a UX Consultant at UXReactor, whose experience in architecture, visual communication and being a non-profit founder led her into the world of human-centered design. She has designed experiences for enterprise technology products with cross-functional teams in the worlds of cybersecurity, alliance management, and virtual data storage to name a few. She is an alumnus of Arup, Urban Strategies Inc and the University of Waterloo.
