UX 13.3: Theme-Free Issue
Proposals are now being accepted from the UX community for UXPA’s UX Magazine for the third quarter of 2013.

UX 13.3 is a theme-free issue, meaning proposals on a wide variety of topics will be accepted. Articles may reflect learnings from one’s own career experiences, a new research method, an overview of an interesting research or design project, or emerging trends in UX. These topics are only suggestions.

The schedule for UX 13.3 is:

  • April 1st, 2013: Article proposals due

  • May 15th, 2013: Final articles due

  • August 2013: Issue published

Please submit an informal proposal (2-3 paragraphs) that lets us understand the main points you want to make in your article, not just the topics you will cover.

Proposals should be sent to:

Aga Bojko: abojko@usercentric.com

Chelsey Glasson: chelsey@udacity.com

User Experience Magazine is a forum for sharing ideas and experiences, not an academic journal. We value conversational language and the emphasis on “real people, real problems, and real solutions.” Our articles are typically between 700 and 2000 words. If you’d like to know more, please take a look at our editorial guidelines.

We look forward to hearing from you!

UX 13.4: Collaboration

The theme of User Experience Professionals Association’s UX Magazinefor the 3rd quarter of 2013 is Collaboration, to align with this summer’s UXPA conference and World Usability Day. We are now accepting proposals for this issue, and we would love to hear from you!

“Collaboration” is a phenomenon that appears on myriad levels, every day, around the world. How does it impact and contribute to the user experience? Do you have an experience you’d like to share, a relevant case study, or an example of how you’ve employed collaboration to improve the user experience? Articles may come from a broad range of perspectives and include collaboration in different contexts, countries and across domains. Be creative with your submission ideas– we look forward to receiving them!

The issue schedule is:

  • April 29, 2013: Article proposals (short summaries of the key points in your article) due

  • August 12, 2013: Final articles due

  • November 2013: Issue published

Please contact Managing Editor JO Bugental (jobugental@gmail.com) or Associate Managing Editor Mindy Maxwell(mlmaxwell73@gmail.com) if you would like to submit a proposal for this issue.

UX Magazine is a quarterly professional magazine; it is not a technical or academic journal. There are no literature surveys or footnotes. Articles are practical in nature and are written in an active, personal voice. They are typically between 750 and 2000 words. Once an article is accepted, an editor will be assigned to work closely with the author to prepare their article for publication. More information, including UX Magazine editorial guidelines, is available on the UXPA website.

Thanks in advance for your contributions. We look forward to hearing from you!
