­­­As Digital Experience Manager at Principal Financial Group, I head up a team of four very talented individuals who collectively make up our User Experience Center of Excellence (UX COE). The UX COE collaborates with the UX teams across all business units to develop the UX standards for Principal Financial Group – a Fortune 500 company.

I’m running for the Director of Web Content and Strategy role, for tenure on the 2016 – 2018 Board of Directors, for the simple fact that I am passionate about ensuring end users are successful and hope to ignite this same passion in others. I have a mature background in UX and User-Centered Design (UCD), and have worked not only in alignment with a variety of groups (IT, marketing, C-suite executives, etc.), but across a variety of industries (financial, healthcare, mortgage, publishing, etc.) as well.

My experience also crosses into the international realm when, for example, I was heavily engaged to provide UX expertise in an international RFP that eventually secured a $30 million contract with the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS). I went on to lead the UX strategy of the Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS) system for NHS which was successfully delivered in 2013.

In addition to my work related experience, I have previous exposure to the UXPA from having held the position of founding President of the UPA of Iowa Chapter in 2006. I believe my combined wealth of experiences will bode the Board of Directors well, and I look forward to the opportunity to serve.
