As Director of Publications I would like to advocate on spreading the word about UX in developed markets and still undeveloped ones such as my hometown Latinamerica. In my 17 years of experience as a UX consultant, UX graduate and undergraduate professor, and as my current role as Web Director at Universidad Católica de Chile, where I outline the digital strategy for the whole university from a User Centered Design perspective, I have been able to face many UX projects from scratch and be a UX evangelist in industries where the concept was not even known. Having that background, I believe Publications can really encourage the advocacy of UX in different markets, different languages and different economies. My knowledge and work at UXPA publications as Translation Manager for the five languages into which UX Magazine is translated, as well as been able to be the Guest Editor and Manager for an issue in English and Spanish about the state-of-the-art of UX in Latinamerica, have confirmed me so. Being able to spread the knowledge empowers practitioners all around the world, in the academic and professional field, to be true advocates for our new and evolving discipline.
