Threespot Information Architects evaluate, envision, and execute audience-centered solutions that meet the goals of both users and clients. They gather, define, and clarify business and audience objectives and are highly-skilled at reviewing an organization’s site architecture and content to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement. Informed by research, they synthesize, translate, and document their understanding into effective and intuitive digital experiences that meet audience and business goals. They are analytical thinkers who can visualize and explain the relationships and design implications of strategic decisions.


Position Requirements

  • Proactive, creative, and logical problem solver who can clearly articulate the abstract concepts of user experience and information architecture in concrete ways
  • Adept at evaluating, organizing, labeling, and structuring content to meet audience and business needs
  • Strong empathy for users and clients with an ability to listen to needs and translate those into experience design
  • Experience designing and documenting structured content types and taxonomies for content management systems
  • Hands-on knowledge of Wordpress, Drupal, and other CMS solutions
  • Demonstrated experience producing written and visual information architecture work products
  • Solid knowledge of wireframing, prototyping, and/or workflow tools (such as Adobe Creative Suite Applications and Sketch)
  • Able to work independently, as well as a part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Intellectual curiosity for current and new technologies and techniques with an ability to learn and acquire domain literacy very quickly
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Passionate about user-centered design methods and experience with direct user research, including usability testing and contextual inquiry (a plus)
  • Organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Possess a healthy sense of humor and of self

Education/Experience Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in related role at an agency
  • Experience using, managing, and designing Content Management Systems required
  • Relevant or equivalent professional experience considered
  • BS/BA in a related field a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce UX documentation (either independently or in collaboration with other members of the UX team) including content models, site maps, user requirements, personas, user flows, content migration plans, usability testing reports, and user stories that communicate site/application structure and organization
  • Translate business requirements and user needs into wireframes, prototypes, and functional specifications that detail content hierarchy, component types, and interactions
  • Clearly communicate findings, ideas, and rationales verbally, visually, and in written form to internal teams and clients
  • Translate user and stakeholder research into strategic and tactical recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with entire project team to craft best-fit solutions
