How long does the program last?
The mentorship cohort typically lasts three months.
What if I’m not able to connect with my mentor or mentee?
Don’t take it personally, people get busy. If you make a few attempts to connect with your mentor or mentee and don’t hear back, let us know and we’ll find a new person to work with.
For Mentees
How often am I expected to meet with my mentor?
You should plan to meet with your mentor at least once every other week for the duration of the program. Some meet more depending on their schedules.
What if my mentor and I aren’t a good fit? Do I get another mentor?
Yes! We understand that not all matches aren’t perfect. If you feel that you and your mentor aren’t a good fit, let us know and we’ll match you with someone else.
What happens after the program? Can I continue working with my mentor?
Of course! If you and your mentor hit it off, we would hope that you would continue to work together past the duration of the cohort.
What do I have to do to sign up?
Mentees need to be a member in good standing in UXPA International. Annual memberships start at $35/year for students and provide you with plenty of other discounts to organization events and educational opportunities. Can I do it again?
Yes! You can join the program as long as you like. We don’t have any restrictions on how many times you can sign up.
For Mentors
How do I become a mentor?
To become a mentor, please send your application here. Mentors should have at least five years experience in the UX industry and should be able to commit to meeting with their mentee once weekly for three months. We seek professionals with design, research or content strategy experience.
Can I work with more than one mentee?
Yes and many mentors do! As long as you have time to work with more than one, we are happy to match you with more than one mentee.
