The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is currently seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer in its eGovernment department, a service provider for the U.S. Department of the Treasury in the areas of revenue collections and eCommerce. This position has focus on user research, design, and prototyping, influencing the planning, development, and UX direction of, but not limited to, the Pay.gov website. This website enables individuals and businesses to submit payments to Federal Government Agencies. Our ideal candidate would be an experienced, passionate UX designer who has a proven track record and a wide array of skills in designing an intuitive user experience for large-scale web applications. Qualifications: 
  • 3+ years of experience in eCommerce web, mobile web, and UX design. Experience with mobile apps is also desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Extensive experience implementing designs and creating test-ready prototypes in an agile development environment
  • Extensive experience in prototyping tools (for example, Axure, Balsamiq, InVision, Sketch, Marvel) and design tools (for example, Adobe CS)
  • Intimate familiarity with web accessibility guidelines
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design
  • Familiarity in some or all of the following: Foundation, Bootstrap, GIT, Javascript (jQuery, AngularJS), SASS
  • Familiarity with change management tools (Confluence, JIRA, IBM Rational)

Responsibilities: 

User Research and Testing

  • Actively participate in all phases of the product lifecycle, including user persona definition, requirement elicitation, usability research, usability testing, data analytics, and web metrics
  • Assist on various product analysis initiatives, which may include executing surveys, compiling and analyzing research results, and drafting implementation plans
  • Exhibit product ownership, present work and rationale to stakeholders, and be accountable to timelines and project needs

Prototyping

  • Create user flows, low- and high-fidelity prototypes, and design artifacts (wireframes, etc.) in preparation for both usability testing and web and mobile development 
  • Lead and participate in cross-discipline ideation, rapid prototyping, and white-boarding with web developers, internal staff, and Federal Government Agencies
  • Conceptualize and articulate strong, delightful user-centered experiences, while balancing business objectives and technological capabilities

Design

  • Produce designs that are compliant with current web accessibility guidelines and responsive to screen sizes and devices
  • Apply design patterns to products so they effectively use typography, iconography, color, composition, brand, and space to present information
  • Remain current with new technologies, frameworks, and trends; advise the enterprise; and pursue the latest opportunities that will improve the user experience
