The UXD Awards started in 2009, and have been jointly organised by UXPA China and Dragon Design Foundation, Beijing, China. This is the first and only user experience design competition within China.
The competition is targeted to university students in partnership with various industry players to advocate the awareness of user-centered design philosophy, and steer the competition projects based on industry needs. The competition requires students to form a team that consists of the following roles: product manager, user researcher, visual and interaction designer and frontend developer to develop a working prototype.
The competition has invited experienced practitioners and experts as the judging panel based on the following criteria: user research analysis, product concept design, design validation process, visual & interaction design and promote demo. Judges will provide constructive criticism and comments to guide the student projects in various stages. The main focus is more about education and experiential learning than about awards.
The UXD Awards has also been one of the highlights of the annual User Friendly China conference since 2009.
